    Authority fields and bibliographic fields
    In This Topic

MARC authority fields are different from those used in bibliographic records.

An authority record in Spydus will contain some of the following fields.

For example, the MARC authority record for “Australian Literature” might look like this.

This is displayed in Spydus Authority Control full display like this.

To help illustrate the relationship between authority fields and bibliographic fields, let's edit a simple bibliographic record and its associated authority records in Cataloguing. Here are the fields in our bibliographic record.

Here's how the two authorities look.

§aCataloguing§xTraining§xHandbooks, manual has three component parts, i.e. three authorities. Here's how they look.
