Place bookings via Circulation or Enquiry
    In This Topic

Staff can place bookings for library users via Circulation or Enquiry.

Book an item by selecting slots in the grid

To book one item for a borrower:

    1. Do one of the following.
    • From the Module Menu select Circulation and load the borrower details. Then click Search Pages > Materials and find the material to be booked.
    • From the Module Menu select Enquiry > Circulation > Materials and find the material to be booked.
    1. Do one of the following.
    • Click the title you want to show the Full Display, and then click Place Booking.
    • Click the checkbox next to the records you want, and then click Book Selections.
    • Click Book All.
    1. Use the date picker to enter or select a date, or use the left and right arrows by the date picker to navigate to the previous or next day. Check the box in the grid to select the slot(s) you want.
If Allow multiple bookings to be placed in staff is set to Yes then you can book slots for multiple items.
    1. If you loaded the borrower details in Circulation then the borrower ID field will be completed automatically. If you started from Enquiry rather than Circulation then you'll need to select the borrower before you can place the booking.
    2. Click Place Booking and then click Continue at the confirmation prompt.
In the booking details shown below the grid you can set a specific date and time for the booking if you wish.

    Datetime booking

Rather than select a slot you can place the booking for a specific date and time.

    1. Do one of the following.
    • From the Module Menu select Circulation and load the borrower details. Then click Search Pages > Materials and find the material to be booked.
    • From the Module Menu select Enquiry > Circulation > Materials and find the material to be booked.
    1. At the Full Display of the material, click Datetime Booking.
    2. Set the date, starting time and finishing time for the booking.
    3. If you loaded the borrower details in Circulation then the borrower ID field will be completed automatically. If you started from Enquiry rather than Circulation then you'll need to select the borrower before you can place the booking.
    4. Click Place Booking and then click Continue at the confirmation prompt.

Using the Check all ... option

You can use the Check all ... option in a datetime booking when you're not fussy about booking a specific item, i.e. any item in the same collection and at the same location will do. Select this option and, if the item you selected is not available, the booking will be placed against an item that is available.
