To specify whether the charge amounts setup in Circulation and Requests settings include tax:

1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then General Parameters.
2. Set Charge amounts are tax inclusive to Yes or No. If you set this to Yes then the charges set in the Circulation or Requests parameters will include the tax component.
3. Click Save or Save & Close.

For example, say the allocation charge in the reservation policy is $2.20. If Charge amounts are tax inclusive is set to no or null, then the allocation charge applied to the borrower is $2.42 (i.e. the charge amount is $2.20 and the tax amount is $0.22). However, if Charge amounts are tax inclusive is set to yes, then the allocation charge applied to the borrower is $2.20 (i.e. the charge amount is $2.00 and the tax amount is $0.20).

Null means the same as No.
