If it is desired that only authorised users have privilege to waive charges in Spydus:

1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then General Parameters.
2. Set Waive approval active to Yes.
3. Click Save or Save & Close.

Null means the same as No.

To specify the minimum amount requiring approval to be waived:

1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then General Parameters.
2. Set Waive amount requiring approval as the desired amount (in the default currency being used by Spydus).
3. Click Save or Save & Close.

• If a user attempts to waive an amount lower than the minimum, the approval process will not be invoked. The user will be able to waive this charge (or charges).
• If Waive approval active is set to Yes, and the Waive amount requiring approval is null, all waived amounts will require approval.

To specify whether a reason is mandatory when a charge is waived or written off:

1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then General Parameters.
2. Set Waive reason mandatory to Yes or No.
3. Click Save or Save & Close.

Null means the same as No.
