You can use the "closed reserve" feature to move items to a particular collection for a specified period, and then move them back to their original collection once you’re done.
In the Circulation General Parameters you specify whether you’re using closed reserves, and the default settings for location, collection, start date, end date and item status.
Closed reserve active. Set this to Yes if you’re using closed reserves.
Closed reserve default collection code. Specifies the default collection to use for closed reserve requests. If you don’t specify a collection here in the general parameters, then the collection in the request will default to the first one in the list.
Closed reserve default end date. Specifies the default end date for closed reserve requests. If you don’t specify an end date here in the general parameters, then the end date in the request will default to the current date.
Closed reserve default item status. Specifies the default item status for closed reserve requests.
Closed reserve default location code. Specifies the default location for closed reserve requests.
Closed reserve default start date. Specifies the default start date for closed reserve requests. If you don’t specify a start date here in the general parameters, then the Start date in the request will default to the current date.
Closed reserve early transfer period. Specifies when you want to start moving items to the closed reserve collection. Here’s an example to show how it works. Say your closed reserve request has a transfer period of 14 days, and today’s date is 9/10. Let’s see what happens when the start date for the request is 22/10, 23/10 or 24/10.
