    Using tables to insert codes
    In This Topic

To help you when editing a record you can display a table of the valid country codes, geographic area codes, general material designations, language codes, RDA codes and RDA terms. For example, if you’re adding tag 041 (the language code) in a record, you might want to display the table of valid codes.

    Let's see an example.

    1. Click New Tag. This displays the Select Field box.
    2. Type the tag you want, then select it from the dropdown list and click OK. We'll use tag 041 in this example.
    3. Click Edit, point to Insert Table Code and then click the option you want. In this example we'll click Language Codes.

    1. Do one of the following.
      • Click Code to sort the table alphabetically by code. If you enter text in the box at the top of the dialog then you will search the codes.
      • Click Text to sort the table alphabetically by text. If you enter text in the box at the top of the dialog then you will search the text.
    2. Click to select the code you want, and then click OK to insert this code in the subfield.
