Edit an existing record in the Web
    In This Topic

It is possible to edit simple bibliographic records in the Web rather than in the Cataloguing. In this case a "simple" bibliographic record is one where:

...can be maintained on the form.

The Web Edit Record option is displayed for any records that you have created using worksheet entry provided the record hasn't been edited subsequently in Cataloguing and is now no longer "simple".

To edit a record in the Web:

    1. From the Module Menu select Cataloguing, Search Pages, select the search option you want and find the record you want to edit.
    2. At the Full Display, click Web Edit Record.
    3. Make your changes. If you want to add another item then fill in the Copy Details at the bottom of the form.
    4. Click Submit Details.

A link will indicate if there are possible matches in the database. For example, you might see "1" match — which is the record you're currently editing. You can click Back to MARC Entry Form if you want to make further changes.

    1. Click Submit to apply your changes.

    Drag and drop tags

MARC tags may be dragged and dropped between browser tabs from one record to another.

If the tag is not a repeatable tag, the user will receive a prompt to confirm that the incoming tag will overwrite the existing one.
