    Add a new field

To add a new field to a record:

    1. Click New Tag. This displays the Select Field box.
    2. Type the tag you want, then select it from the dropdown list and click OK. The new field will then be added to the end of the appropriate "tag group". For example, if you add a 650 tag then it will be added to the end of the 6XX group.
    3. You can enter the contents of the each subfield in the top left pane or in the bottom pane. You'll see your changes in both panes.
You can press CTRL+Enter as a shortcut key to add a new field.

    Add a new subfield

    To add a new subfield:

    1. Click the cursor in the field you want.
    2. In the top right pane, double-click the subfield you want to add.

You can also add a new subfield manually:

    1. Click the cursor in the field you want, at the position where you want to add the new subfield.
    2. Click Edit, and then Insert Unit Separator.
    3. Type the subfield code.
Although you can enter data in any sequence, the subfields within each field should be in the order specified in the MARC standards. Spydus will not reorder the subfields.
