Rather than create a new record from scratch, you might prefer to set up a number of data entry templates and use these instead. Each template could have a default record type, bibliographic level, encoding level, etc., and the field prompts could be defined according to your requirements, with default data included in the fields.

To create a new template:

1. Set up the record contents as you want in Cataloguing.
2. Click Save As Template on the Save menu.
3. Type a new name, description and notes, and then click Save Changes.
