The global general parameters only apply if your library is part of a consortium, i.e. if there are multiple institutions using a shared database.

Check availability at pickup location for OPAC

To specify whether Spydus checks the availability of items at the nominated pickup location when a user tries to place a reservation in global OPAC or when they are in local OPAC and select an item from another institution:

    1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation, Global and then General Parameters.
    2. Set Check availability at pickup location (OPAC) to Yes or No.
No Availability is not checked and you can place a reservation if items are available at the pickup location.
Yes Availability is checked. If there are items available then we show the RSVAVAILPICKUP alert, and the parameters for this alert will determine whether or not you can place the reservation, e.g. whether to block the transaction.
    3. Click Save or Save & Close.

Check availability at pickup location for staff

To specify whether Spydus checks the availability of items at the nominated pickup location when staff try to place a reservation in a global bibliographic search:

    1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation, Global and then General Parameters.
    2. Set Check availability at pickup location (staff) to Yes or No.
No Availability is not checked and you can place a reservation if items are available at the pickup location.
Yes Availability is checked. If there are items available then we show the RSVAVAILPICKUP alert, and the parameters for this alert will determine whether or not you can place the reservation, e.g. whether to block the transaction.

    2. Set Check availability for OPAC users to Yes or No.
