You can choose to "freeze" the current fines when a status is set against an item. You might do this, for example, when the Lost status is set to stop overdue fines from accruing.

To specify whether fines are frozen when a particular status is set against an item:

1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then Item Status.
2. Select the status you want from the list.
3. Set Freeze fines when status set to Yes or No.
4. Click Save or Save & Close.

Null means the same as No.
