You can choose whether new messages shown in OPAC have to be manually acknowledged by the borrower. To do this:

1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then General Parameters.
2. Set New borrower message acknowledgment required to Yes or No.

   No	A message will be flagged as new until a set number of days has passed. The default is 1 day.
   Yes	A message will be flagged as new until manually acknowledged by the borrower.

3. Click Save or Save & Close.

Null means the same as No.
