Delete an item status
Only site-specific statuses that you have added can be deleted or suspended. You cannot delete a status that is currently set against an item. You can delete a status if it's only set in an item's status history.
To delete an item status:
- From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then Item Status.
- Select the status that you want to delete from the list.
- Click Delete, and then click Yes at the confirmation prompt.
- Click Save or Save & Close. The status is only deleted when you save your changes.
Suspend an item status
Rather than delete an item status, you might prefer to suspend it. This means that it will no longer appear in the dropdown list of statuses that can be set against an item. And you can un-suspend the status later if you want to use it again. To suspend an item status:
- From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then Item Status.
- Select the status that you want to suspend from the list.
- Click Suspend.
- Click Save or Save & Close. The status is only suspended when you save your changes.
