The Cutoff period for overnight minute loans specifies a number of minutes before closing time. A minute loan issued within this period would be an overnight loan.
For example, if you set the cutoff period to 30 minutes then items are issued as overnight loans when there is less than 30 minutes remaining before closing time. The due time would then be opening time on the next open day plus any Grace period for overnight minutes loans.
To specify the cutoff period:
- From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation, Policies and then Loan Policies.
- Select the policy you want from the list.
- Set the Cutoff period for overnight minute loans.
- Press Tab or Enter, or click anywhere on the screen to enable the Save options.
- If there are records linked to the policy then you'll be prompted whether you want to update the existing policy or create a new one and deactivate the existing one.
- Click Update if you want to update the existing policy. The records linked to the policy will be updated.
- Click Create New if you want to create a new policy. The records linked to the existing (deactivated) policy will not be updated.
- Click Save or Save & Close.
Cutoff period for overnight minute loans is only used if Loan period for minute loans is set.
