To specify whether items with a particular status are considered as "available" when you try to reserve them:

1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then Item Status.
2. Select the status you want from the list.
3. Set Are items available at reservation to Yes or No.
4. Click Save or Save & Close.

This parameter is used with the Check availability parameters in the Circulation General Parameters. For example, if you try to place a reservation against an item that has a status with Are items available at reservation set to Yes and Check availability set to Yes in the Circulation General Parameters, you’ll be prompted with a RSVAVAIL alert. You can override the alert and place the reservation if you have a high enough privilege level.

Null means the same as No.
