Typically you might want to "extend" the hold period for an allocated item if it's intransit from one location to another - i.e. the hold period will not be decremented as long as the IT status is set.

To specify whether the hold period is extended for items with a particular status:

1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then Item Status.
2. Select the status you want from the list.
3. Set Extend hold period to Yes or No.
4. Click Save or Save & Close.

Null means the same as No.
