You can use the Holidays extend hold period parameter to extend the hold period over public holidays, i.e. the hold period date will increase by the number of public holidays spanned by the original hold period. Here’s an example.

Public holiday on 12/10 and 13/10.

Allocate an item on 10/10.

Hold period is 4 days.

If Holidays extend hold period is No then the due date is 14/10.

10/10	11/10	12/10	13/10	14/10	15/10	16/10
Allocate		Holiday	Holiday	Hold date

If Holidays extend hold period is Yes then the due date is 16/10.

10/10	11/10	12/10	13/10	14/10	15/10	16/10
Allocate		Holiday	Holiday			Hold date

To set the parameter:

1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then General Parameters.
2. Set Holidays extend hold period to Yes or No.
3. Click Save or Save & Close.

Null means the same as No.
