Check existing loans for reservations (global parameters)

The global general parameters only apply if your library is part of a consortium, i.e. if there are multiple institutions using a shared database.

You can specify whether borrowers can place a reservation for a title they already have on loan using the parameter Check existing loans for reservations. This parameter can be set in four places:

Circulation General Parameters / Global general parameters.
Borrower category.
Reservation policy.

To set Check existing loans for reservations in the global general parameters:

From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation, Global and then General Parameters.
Set Check existing loans for reservations to Yes or No.
Click Save or Save & Close.

Null means the same as No.
