To specify whether an inhouse return record (IHR) is created when an item that is not currently onloan is returned:

1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then General Parameters.
2. Set Log inhouse returns to Yes or No.
3. Click Save or Save & Close.

This parameter is used if Stocktake items is not selected in the Local settings, and it overrides the Inhouse return option (also in the Local Settings). If Stocktake items is selected, then Log inhouse returns is ignored.
