To specify whether an item that is currently on loan to one borrower is automatically returned when you try to issue it to another borrower:

1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then General Parameters.
2. Set Return items automatically to the option you want. 
   • No. The ONLOTHER alert will be displayed when you try to issue the item and you can choose whether or not to proceed.
   • Yes. The item is automatically returned.
   • Yes, except in Self Service. The item is automatically returned.
3. Click Save or Save & Close.

Null means the same as No.
