Delete or deactivate locations

Locations may only be deleted if they have no major links to other records.
Although a Location may not be deleted if it has major links, it may be deactivated it as long as it does not have any current links to active:
- borrowers,
- items,
- loans,
- reservations,
- bookings,
- requests,
- events or event registrations,
- collections (via stock rotation, shelf check, or restricted pickup locations),
- policies,
- mobile library routes,
- home services rounds,
- allocation patterns,
- orders,
- staff users
To delete or deactivate a location:
- From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then Locations.
- Select a location from the list.
- If the location can be deleted then you'll see a Delete button. If the location can be deactivated then you'll see a Deactivate button rather than a Delete button. If the location can't be deleted or deactivated then the Deactivate button will be disabled.
- Click Delete, and then click Yes at the confirmation prompt.
- Click Deactivate, and then click Yes at the confirmation prompt. Deactivated locations are highlighted in red.
- Click Save or Save & Close. The location is only deleted/deactivated when you save your changes.
