Delete a policy

The Delete button is only enabled:

If the selected policy is not the default one.
If you have a high enough permission level.

If the selected policy has major links, e.g. if there are bookings, reservations, loans or notices linked to it, then it's deactivated rather than deleted.

To delete a policy:

From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation, Policies and then the policy you want — Booking Policies or Global Reservation Policies or Loan Policies or Notice Policies or Reservation Policies.
Select the policy that you want to delete.
Click Delete, and then click Yes at the confirmation prompt.
Click Save or Save & Close. The policy is only deleted when you save your changes.

Suspend a policy

Rather than delete a policy, you might prefer to suspend it. This means that it will no longer be used. And you can un-suspend the policy later if you want to use it again. To suspend a policy:

From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation, Policies and then the policy you want — Booking Policies or Global Reservation Policies or Loan Policies or Notice Policies or Reservation Policies.
Select the policy that you want to suspend.
Click Suspend.
Click Save or Save & Close. The policy is only suspended when you save your changes.
