    Modify the scope of policies
    In This Topic

The Modify Scope button is only enabled:

    • If the selected policy is not the default one.
    • If there are no major links to the selected policy, e.g. no bookings, reservations, loans or notices linked to it.
    • If you have a high enough permission level.
You can only specify a scope that matches an entry in the policy hierarchy.

You can use Modify Scope to change the scope of an existing policy. This will add a new policy (with the modified scope) and delete the existing one.

    1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation, Policies and then the policy you want — Booking Policies or Global Reservation Policies or Loan Policies or Notice Policies or Reservation Policies.
    2. Select the policy that you want to copy.
    3. Click Modify Scope.
    4. Specify the scope of the new policy, and then click OK.
    5. The settings from the existing policy are automatically inherited in the new one so you'll need to disinherit the parameter(s) you want to change. You can do this by:
      • clearing the checkbox to the left of the parameter or
      • clicking Inherit None or
      • clearing Use default values.
    6. Set up the parameters you want, then click Save or Save & Close.
