    Parameters for postal deliveries
    In This Topic

Instead of coming in to the library to pickup an allocated item, borrowers can choose to have the items mailed to them.

    General parameters

To set up the general parameters for postal deliveries:

    1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then General Parameters.
    2. Set up the Reservations (Postal Delivery) parameters.
      • Postal delivery active. This specifies whether borrowers can request to have reserved items delivered by post. Null means no.
      • Postal delivery charge code. The charge code to be applied. Leave this parameter as null if no charge is to be applied. You might want to add a code for a postal delivery charge, e.g. POST.
      • Postal delivery mailing location. Reservations which have been requested for postal delivery will be sent (intransit) to this location when allocated.
    3. Click Save or Save & Close
If your library is part of a consortium then you should also set Postal delivery active in the global general parameters.

    Borrower category

To set up the borrower category parameters for postal deliveries:

    1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then Borrower Categories.
    2. Select the category from the list.
    3. Specify the Postal delivery amount, i.e. the amount to charge the borrower. If you're applying a charge then be sure to include the charge codes on the Charges tab.
    4. Select the Postal delivery mode.
      • All means that postal delivery is available to all borrower in this category.
      • No means that postal delivery is not available to borrower in this category.
      • Yes means that postal delivery is only available to borrowers with the Postal delivery option selected in their registration details.
    5. Click Save or Save & Close.

    Registration details

In the registration details you can use the Post delivery checkbox to specify whether a particular borrower will see the postal delivery option.
