Staff can set up alerts to be displayed at Self Service terminals or not.
Here's an example of some alerts that will be displayed.
We do not show the alert ID in Self Service - this can only be seen in Circulation. For example:
There are some alerts that are critical and cannot be overridden, so the borrower cannot proceed to use the Self Service terminal. Example of such an alert is the Debar alert.
In the Alert Parameters, staff can specify the parameters for Self Service terminals.

As the type of a charge can be either charge or fine; these alerts may be configured such that self-service behaviour differs for oustanding charges as opposed to outstanding fines.
