Select the checkbox to the left of a parameter to inherit the setting from the default borrower category. Clear this checkbox if you want to change the setting for the selected borrower category. You can also click Inherit All and Inherit None to inherit or disinherit the settings for all parameters.
You can specify an overdue grace period in the borrower category. An item can then be overdue for this period before fines are applied.
If an item is overdue beyond the grace period, fines will be calculated from the date (for day loans) or time (for minute loans) that the item was originally due, not from the date or time the grace period expired.
To specify the overdue grace period:
- From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then Borrower Categories.
- Select the category you want from the list.
- On the Details tab, set the Overdue grace period in days (this applies to day loans) and/or the Overdue grace period in minutes (this applies to minute loans).
- Press Tab or click anywhere on the screen to enable the Save options.
- Click Save or Save & Close.
