    In This Topic
Select the checkbox to the left of a parameter to inherit the setting from the default borrower category. Clear this checkbox if you want to change the setting for the selected borrower category. You can also click Inherit All and Inherit None to inherit or disinherit the settings for all parameters.

You can specify whether demerits are applied for overdue items in the borrower category. To set up these parameters:

    1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then Borrower Categories.
    2. Select the category you want from the list.
    3. On the Details tab, set up the Demerits parameters you want (see below for details).
    4. Click Save or Save & Close.

    Apply demerits

Set this to Yes to apply demerits to overdue items.

Null means the same as No.

    Demerit removal mode

This controls when demerits are removed.

1 Remove when the item is returned.
    2 Remove when debarral lifted.
    3 Accrue indefinitely.

    Maximum overdue demerits

The maximum overdue demerits that can accrue on one item.

    Overdue demerits grace period

Overdue demerits grace period in days specifies the number of days a day loan can be overdue before demerits are applied.

Overdue demerits grace period in minutes specifies the number of minutes a minute loan can be overdue before demerits are applied.

    Overdue demerits offset period

This specifies the number of days or minutes that calculations will be “offset” by once an overdue item is returned. For example, if Overdue demerits offset period in days is set to 3 and an item is returned when it’s 4 days overdue, then the offset will calculate the demerits for 1 overdue day.

The Overdue demerits offset period in days applies to day loans. The Overdue demerit offset period in minutes applies to minute loans.
