Select the checkbox to the left of a parameter to inherit the setting from the default borrower category. Clear this checkbox if you want to change the setting for the selected borrower category. You can also click Inherit All and Inherit None to inherit or disinherit the settings for all parameters.
You can specify a minimum age limit for borrowers in the category. For example, if you set the minimum age for the "Adult" category to 18 and you register a borrower younger than this, then you won't see "Adult" as an option in the dropdown list of categories.
To specify the minimum age for a borrower category:
- From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then Borrower Categories.
- Select the category you want from the list.
- On the Details tab, set the Minimum age limit.
- Press Tab or click anywhere on the screen to enable the Save options.
- Click Save or Save & Close.
This works best when an age limit is set up for every borrower category.
