Select the checkbox to the left of a parameter to inherit the setting from the default borrower category. Clear this checkbox if you want to change the setting for the selected borrower category. You can also click Inherit All and Inherit None to inherit or disinherit the settings for all parameters.
To specify that borrowers in a particular category are to be moved to another category when they reach a certain age:
- From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then Borrower Categories.
- Select the category you want from the list.
- On the Details tab, select the Succeeding borrower category and set the Upper age limit in years.
- Click Save or Save & Close.
The example below is for “Junior” borrowers and specifies that borrowers in this category will become “Adults” once they’re 18 years old.
Succeeding borrower category: Adult
Upper age limit: 18 Years
The movement from one category to the next is done automatically in one of two ways;
- When you access the borrower record, for example, when you scan the borrowers number at the circulation desk.
- The borrower validation task is run on your server
Please contact Civica Support for assistance as commissioning is required. |
Whichever process occurs first will move the borrower to the succeeding category.
