In the borrower category you’ll find a parameter for setting the Global ID.

This is used with Auto add borrower in the General Circulation Parameters. When a new borrower account is automatically created, we try to find a category in the new institution with the same Global ID as the borrower's category in the old institution.

It's also used in the scope of global reservation policies.

To set the global ID for a borrower category:

1. From the Module Menu select Maintenance, Circulation and then Borrower Categories.
2. Select the category you want from the list.
3. On the Details tab, select the Global ID.
4. Click Save or Save & Close.
