Add a downloadable load control

Typically the load controls for eResource Circulation APIs are setup at the time of commissioning by Civica Support Staff. You will need some information from the eresource vendors in order to setup the interfaces. Further details of the interfaces and the requirements for commissioning are provided at the time of purchase.

To add a "downloadable load" load control:

From the Module Menu select Cataloguing, MARC and then Load Control Maintenance.
Click New.
Specify the new ID, select "Bibliographic" as the record Type and click OK.
Specify a description.
Select "Downloadable load" as the load type.
On the General tab, select the tags you want to match on. The 035 must ALWAYS be set so that matching tags will bump the records. eResources often don’t have ISBNs, so you might not be able to bump on those, but we’ll match and bump on the 035 tag.
Set up the parameters on the Downloadable Load tab (see below for details).
Click OK, and then click Save or Save & Close.

Location and Collection

Select the location and collection from the dropdown lists. All the records will be loaded into this location and collection.

You might like to create a location and/or collection specifically for your eresources. If you want different eresources to go to different locations and/or collections then either split the records into separate files for loading or change the location/collection later via Item Maintenance.

Provider

Be sure to select the correct one. The providers we currently support are Axis360, BorrowBox, Cloud Library, OneClickdigital, Overdrive, Wheelers and Zinio.

Bump item

Make sure that this option is selected so that existing items are bumped.
