The options on the Cataloguing Search Pages menu can be used to search for authority records, bibliographic records, serial issues and taxonomic records.
You can select multiple options within a multi-select list using SHIFT+click or CTRL+click, for example to select several locations. Use CTRL+click to deselect a selection. OR is used as the Boolean operator between multiple selections in a multi‑select list, while AND is used between multi-select lists.
Enter your search criteria and then click OK.
The options you see will depend on how Staff Enquiry has been configured for your library.
Use the Quick Search option to search for bibliographic and taxonomic records using basic search terms and keywords.
Use the Authority Search option to search for authority records. For example, you might want to search for the authority record of a specific author or title to find any multiples with the same tag and merge them into one record.
Use the Bibliographic Search option to find bibliographic records. You may use this search to create saved lists, find sets of similar titles, reserve titles, and find individual items linked to one bibliographic title.
Use the Bibliographic Search (Global) option to return bibliographic search results across a consortia. If your library is not a part of a consortia this option will only search your own database.
Use the Bibliographic Search (External) option to search external institutions' databases for bibliographic records. Using this search will allow you to find bibliographic records for new items and copy those records into your own database.
Use the Bibliographic Search - ISBN (External) option to search external institutions' databases for a list of bibliographic records (or individual records) by their ISBN(s). Similar to the Bibliographic Search (External) you will be able to copy across bibliographic information from other institutions into your own database.
Use the Serial Issue Search option to search for serial issues based on their reference, type, bibliographic title, issue title and publication date.
